Sample of a butter chip or small (3"w) footed bowl with fluted edges marked for a hotel/club in the capitol city of these islands which was converted from a schoolhouse in 1870 and apparently closed by circa 1975. The item demonstrates the far reaching extent of this firm's place in the European trade....

Three samples of marks (blind mice-freely borrowed as no restrictions were noted) found on hotel ware products. One seems to show a modernized marking. Two include the various internal factory stampings of dual-digit codes that are undefined. It is possible that the numbers within a diamond cartouche are date codes for the years...they have been observed so far to range between "26" and "62"( the year prior to the Gero aquistion of the firm in 1963). This is still only suggestive and not definite. [The blurred number in diamond is "37", which could match 1937.] Numbers that would fall into war years of 1939-45 have not been spotted yet.
