Any ideas on this spoon's origin?

Hi

This teaspoon I originally thought may be Scottish Provincial, possibly Perth, but I now think it is more likely Colonial.

Has anybody seen these marks before, if not any opinions would be gratefully appreciated.

Many Thanks
Martin

Hi Martin,

That would be Robert Gray of Glasgow. The marks are official Edinburgh Assay Office ones.

Is that the "Incuse Head Of King George III" which was only used for one year in 1785? So would that prove the year of assay?

Yes, it's the incuse head; it was used from December 1784 until some time in the 1785 assay year which ended in September 1786.
