Please help to id a mark on Sterling shell spoon

Postby JCMIRACLE » Mon Nov 06, 2006 2:46 pm

I have this shell spoon from my grandmother's estate. It is marked sterling with some sort of other mark and I can't make it out and haven't seen anything on the site resembling it. I am not even sure it is American. Thanks for any help that you can provide.

Thank you VERY much. You are truely an expert. I would have never been able to figure that out without your help due to wear on the spoon. Thanks.

The pattern is called Virginia, and it was first introduced by Alvin in 1900.
