SWEDISH FORKS

Postby niceguy1 » Sun Feb 03, 2019 2:31 pm

Hi

Let me see if I got these right: Maker GAB for Guldsmeds Aktiebolaget, Swedish national hallmark, Letter for Stockholm? & code O6 for 1892.

Is that correct?

Thanks

Yes, except for that no letter for Stockolm. The third mark is St. Erik, Stockholm's saint, and the last letter D i likely a journeyman's mark

Thanks for the confirmation. What might this pattern be called?

It is an old European rococo pattern called Palmes Suedois (Swedish Palms). In Sweden called by its official name Gammalfransk (Old French) but people also call it franska lijan (French fleur de lis).
