Please help identify silver hallmark, maker's mark on Liqueur Pineapple

Postby Gerox » Mon Dec 17, 2018 4:52 pm

Hello All,
There are 6 nice Liqueur Pineapples with very beautiful breakthrough work,

Image

At the edge there are 4 brands:
1. Austria-Hungary silver hallmark 1867-1922: Dog Head 3= (silver fineness 800)and Assay City Letter “2H”
2. 2x the brand “H2”, I think it is also the assay mark, but do not know if this stands for Hall(until 1872) or Bregenz(from 1872)
3. a master mark „JM“

It would be great if somebody could help me with the riddle „2H“ and decrypt the manufacturer.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hello!
H2 was the assay code of Bozen (Bolzano) between 1868-1918. Unfortunatly I don't have source for the makers of this region.
Best regards!

Hi Krisztián,
Many, thanks for your your quick reply, very helpful.
I wouldn’t have expected Bolzano.
Pity that you have no source for the manufacturers.

Best regards

I think, maybe you can make some research in the adressbooks, telephone books, lists of titles of this period in Bozen. MAybe you can find a silversmith, goldsmith with the right monogram, and maybe you can find the maker. Please, if you have luck, share sith us!
BEst regards!
