"H.CS" mark on Silverplate

Postby hpidaves » Wed Jul 04, 2018 8:38 pm

I believe this hollow handle fork is silver plate. It has an extended etched bowl coming from the hollow handle. There is a maker mark on the reverse side -- I believe it reads "H.CS". Any idea as to maker or pattern?
Thanks.

Even though it looks like a maker's mark in oval cartouche, any chance it might be an abbreviation for the generic "Handle-Coin Silver"?

It is possible. Was "H.CS" used as an abbreviation for that to your knowledge?
Thanks.
