unknown marks on enforced with cement sterling

Postby Tanya » Sat Sep 30, 2006 8:30 pm

Hello e1, I have a compote that has the mark of a shield with a curved top with the letter R and what appears to have the top part of a horse in the middle of it kicking up and the numbers 522 and sterling enforced with cement. I have looked in several places and could not find it. Some that were simular but, not the same. Any knowledgable information will be greatly appreachated.

That's a mark used by the Revere Silver Company, Brooklyn, New York. Succeeded Revere Silversmiths c.1960. Now a division of Crown Silver Inc.
