Nürnberg or Hanau

Postby orthogonal » Wed Sep 06, 2017 3:03 am

A dear friend asked me for help with this spoon, but I dont have a clue either. The N is in a shield not in a circle. Is it Nürnberg nevertheless (maybe because of the 13 Lot) or is it Hanau - I have seen a similar mark of Neresheimer - or something else? The shape reminds me of Austrian spoons from the 1850s/1860s. Is this spoon from that era as well? Thank you!

Hi,
It`s Nürnberg 1860 ``N`` (unidentified maker)
Hoping you can open the link. The image on the right is taken from there:

Enter Nürnberg on the left and click on ``Abschicken``

Nürnberger Goldschmiedekunst (Nuremburg: Germanisches Nationalmusem, 2007) tentatively attributes this mark to Johann Wilhelm Nusselt (1817-1870); Master 1845. [Mark 1082].
