Edinburgh SS tea set, seeking info on maker's marks

I recently unearthed an old silver tea set, and have just researched the marks, as far as I can go. There are 5 pieces, a creamer, a coffeepot, two tea kettles, and a sugar bowl. The marks: the set was made in Edinburgh, two dates, 1833 and 1835. Four of the pieces belong to the same set, the odd piece (a large tea pot) has slightly different markings.

The five pieces are very heavy and embellished with ornate floral designs.

Makers mark on 3 pieces: "E & Co", 1835
Maker's mark on matching coffeepot, 1833: "E & Co" and "JH & Co" below it

Maker's mark on large tea kettle: "J Mc" with a period under the "c"

Any ideas who the makers are?

E&Co was Elder & Co
JH & Co was James Hardy & Co of Aberdeen (selling on an Elder & Co piece, not too uncommon), if there is a full stop between the J and the H and a long punch with a little tag at each end; or James Howden & Co if no '.' and an ordinary oblong punch
JMc was J McKay

Elder and Howden are both in Jackson.
