Is this a French hallmark on a silver-hilt of a smallsword?

The quality of the silver work is excellent, depicting the labors of Hercules. The only mark I could find is a crowned R. Am I correct to assume that this is French ca.1780? Thank you!

Hi,
It`s not French and not 18th century.
Crowned ``R``is often seen in Hanau pseudo marks.

Possibly Neresheimer,late 19th century.
