Coined HB mark on sterling lid

Postby Phate008 » Thu Jun 08, 2017 8:39 pm

I saw a mark similar to this one in my research (can't remember who it was now), but it belonged to an 18th century maker. This is definitely not that I don't think. It looks like a crown or sideway E on top of a coined HB mark. Any ideas on this maker? Not sure if the jar was originally made with it, and if it was supposed to have a spoon with it. Thanks for the help, I appreciate it.

The title was supposed to say conjoined HB mark. I can't find out how to edit the message assuming there is a way. Sorry about that.

It looks a LOT like the Hoffbrau Haus symbol in Munich Germany.

Bet you money it's from their gift shop.

Maker is most probably Hermann Bauer, Schwäbisch Gmünd (or less probable Hermann Behrnd, Dresden). It is a mustard pot from Düsseldorf made in 20th century by ABB (= Adam Bernhard Bergrath) with the anchor. The lid in sterling silver with an opening for the spoon is crowned by a "Düsseldorfer Radschläger".

Silverfan is rights.
I will only add that the boy who makes a somersault ("twist the wheel") is a symbol of Dusseldorf.
