makers initials

Postby elainerc » Fri Aug 25, 2006 8:26 am

I have tried on a few occasions to take a decent pic of the item im trying to get the makers mark for but my camera keeps on reflecting no matter what flash i take it in.

I'm not too sure what the small little item is, trinket, snuff pill box? it is only approx 7.5cm in length.

From the website i have discovered the anchor lion and small 'g' in a squarish shaped mark making it birmingham enlgand and approx 1906. The maker is S.M.I. do you know who this is?

I have inherited it recently along with a similar one but longer in length and with a different pattern on the lid. They both have the same crystal.

For my other one i discovered the anchor lion and and a small 'n' in squarish shaped mark making it approx 1912 with the maker OL stamped on it. Do you know who this maker is also?

any help aprecciated, keep scratching my head over these searching the internet.

The first is probably Samuel M. Levi of Edgebaston (S.M.L) c1900-10, the second, I am afraid that I have no idea.
