Belgian mark for the first half of 19th century ?

Postby anikopol » Sun Nov 13, 2016 6:33 pm

Hi,

I own a "false" pair of knife :
- one with the French little garantee for "province" (outside Paris), 1798-1809, and the blade engraved "LADERIER A NAMUR"
- another, very similar, with this mark (see below) which I could not identify. I am almost certain it is not French ; because of the reference to Namur on the other knive, I suppose that it could be Belgian

Your advice ?

Thank you.

My first guess looking at your image with crescent moon and crown would be Germany , not Belgium.

Oel.

Hello, the mark with the three crosses is one used by Arnold Kuenne from Altena, Germany. Regards, Bahner

Thanks a lot for your findings.
I know almost nothing on German silver.
It seems that there were a crescent on the left of the crown, and crescent + crown + 800 means a purity of 800 for Germany since 1888 (to nowadays), according to my recent research.
