H. D. Cretcher, formerly for five years salesman for the Hartford Silver Plate Co., and later for a year with the Rockford Silver Plate Co., will represent the Holmes & Edwards Silver Co. and the Manhattan Silver Plate Co., on the road in Michigan and Wisconsin. Mr. Cretcher is making arrangements to leave for his territory.

The Sheets-Rockford Silver Co. has purchased the equipment of the Rockford Silver Plate Co, and will engage in the manufacture of hollow ware only. A large percentage of the employes of the Rockford Silver Plate Co. will be with this company and will continue to produce the same high grade hollowware as they have done in the past. The company will pay particular attention to repair work of all kinds, and will continue the same high grade work in this line that the Rockford Silver Plate Co., formerly did. The Rockford Silver Plate Co. was purely a Rockford, Ill., industry and financed by local capital. This company is also a local concern.

Death of P. Ralph Copeland
Rockford, Ill., Oct. 14 — P. Ralph Copeland, superintendent of the factory of the Rockford Silver Plate Co., of this city, died yesterday afternoon at his home on 10th St., after a short illness. Deceased was seized with paralysis on Oct. 5 while at the shop and gradually grew worse until the end.
Mr. Copeland, who had been for 24 years with the plant of which he was superintendent, and was well known and respected throughout this section, had recently passed his 40th year. He was born in Winnebago, Aug. 14, 1868, and came to Rockford in 1881. A few years later he entered the employ of the silver plate concern as an errand boy, but by his diligent attention to his duties and his natural brightness, progressed until he became superintendent of the entire plant.
Mr. Copeland is survived by a widow, a mother and two brothers, He was prominent in labor and Masonic circles, and was master of E. F. W. Ellis Lodge, A. F. & A. M. The funeral will be held Saturday at Winnebago, and will be in charge of the Rev. Mr. Williamson, of the First Presbyterian Church.

Word was received in Chicago last week that L. A. Littlefield, general manager of the Rockford Silver Plate Co., who had been confined to his home seriously ill for three weeks, is now very much improved.
