Hello All. Another item of which I can't find the maker's mark. Nice Spoon, almost 9 inches long. Mark looks like an S in a bell. Thank You.

If I see it well, it is a "P" next to the head, meaning it was made in Hungary (in case of an "A", it is from Austria). I have found this bell with an S in auction journals, the jeweler was working in approx 1910 in Hungary. So the bell with the S itself is the maker's mark.

More precisely, ``P`` stands for Budapest (Pest), and ``A`` would be Vienna.
Let`s wait for the answer with the maker.

I have a set of this pattern, from family in Croatia (then Yugoslavia) before WWII. I'm confident it is the same pattern. On ours, the Dianakopf is in a 5-lobed flower-type shape, and there is an A for Vienna manufacture, and what we think is a 3 for silver content or 800. On most pieces, the second mark is an oak leaf with acorn, which was the mark of Viennese silversmith Vincenz Carl Dub. There are a couple pieces with VCD inside a rectangle, which was another mark they used.

The maker with the S mark is the mark of Schwartz Ignác in Budapest.
His shop was in the Dohány utca (street) 78. between 1908-1914.
