St. Petersburg Silver Stuffing Spoon

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone can confirm this is August Wilhelm Holmstrom and not his son. I was also wondering if there is an significance to the monogram of the "R" with the crown above. I have two stuffing spoons and three serving spoons with the same monogram. Any help would be great. Thank you in advance. Photos below

I don't think the spoon is made by Holmström, neither father nor son. Holmström didn't make cutlery but jewelry and objects mostly in gold. However, I do think that this AH is Adam Herttuainen (read this link viewtopic.php?f=46&t=43421&p=124418&hilit=herttuainen#p124418) irrespective the mark having similarities with Holmström's mark.
Adam Herttuainen had specialized in making cutlery, knifes, spoons, forks etc. He was also a subcontractor to Morozow.

About the engravings, yes it is a count's crown but the initials are SR (possibly RS) not a single R. As already mentioned by AG2012, it is more or less impossible the trace the owner. The only thing you can say is that he is not Russian because of the Latin letters.

I forgot to tell that the spoon's pattern has a name. It is called Model Helsinki, still made and rather popular. And for the records, the maker is Adam Herttuainen.

I have some doubts. A better photo of the marks would help - can not see the townmark, assayer and the maker clearly!
Ubaranda´s photo of the different AH marks contains a lot of fake marks (each mark is different, all the cartouches differ - from eliptic to oval to rectangle with round corners!) - never have seen authentic Morozov or Jjubawin with AH marks - but the market is full of them. Also the font changes every time.





I would like to see a photo of an authentic object from Herttuainen with all marks! Certainly Qrt.S can provide one from his friends family.

Yes we know, you always have your doubt's. In this case forget them. It is as I mentioned. The information I wrote is given by Adam Herttuainen's daughter's son Mauri Herttuainen and I have no reason to questioning them! The assayer is АШ, being Aleksandr Timofejevitch Schevjakov 1890-1896(1913?) in St Petersburg, all matches irrespective of the differing shape of the frame. Under no circumstances it is Holmström.

What I doubt is this anonym AH. His mark shows up since several years - mostly on fakes - in many variants. I documented and mentioned all this already in my last contribution. Maybe Herttuainen used on every spoon a new punch? You also wrote that Herttuainen was specializing in cutlery and was a subcontractor of Morozov. How comes that one find his mark on kovshi, tscharki etc. together with the mark of Morozov? Cutlery?
I thought you would provide an thematically answer...

I can supply another photo of the spoon's hallmarks, however the consensus seems to be that the silversmith was Adam Herttuainen. I appreciate all the help. Thanks again!
