Maker's Mark on Box

Postby moonshine » Sun Sep 18, 2016 11:55 pm

Hello. Is this the mark of Edouard Ernie. Under magnification, in person, it looks like it could be EE, though in pics looks like EF.
It's 4 x 3 x 1 1/4 inches. 172 grams. Thank You.

The symbol used by Edouard Ernie is a gaiter (une guêtre)
Personnally I think you should look for Ernest Eck, 5 rue Beaurepaire Paris, who's symbol are two stars pierced vertically and separated by a pellet.

As Zilver2 says, not Ernie. My money is not on Eck either - the symbol does not look like his. Unfortunately the symbol is too indistinct to say definitively who made your box.

Thank you. The more I look at it, the more I think the second letter is an F.
