Silver Coin Locket

Postby Tammy » Sun Aug 13, 2006 4:04 am

My Aunty has a silver coin locket/case that has no visible Sterling Silver marks on it. It holds a soveriegn, a half soveriegn, a shilling, 6p and 3p. It was her mother's father's and has a 'Made in England' stamp on the side. It also contains a stamp that says 'Patent' and a shield divided into 3 with the letters 'J, W, B'. Can someone please help determine if it could be Sterling Silver or any other information about coin lockets/cases?
Thank you

That might be a mark used by James W. Benson, Ludgate Hill, London. England. In business as early as the last quarter of the 19th century.
