Silverplated Dinner spoon

Postby Smokanabeach » Mon Aug 29, 2016 9:27 am

Hello everybody!

For once I'm coming with a silverplated stuff. I guess this silver because of what it see/it looks like (even if the silverplate is in an excellent statement), because of hallmarks and even if silver test is positiv (May be i would have scrubed it harder...).

Again, I need your light on that interrogation!

Hi Smoka,

To me, the marks have a Swiss feel about them. Are you 100% that it is plated?

I also think it is solid silver.
Maybe an import mark of Belgium?

Hi again!

Not really sure... As told, what makes me ask is it is silver test reactiv... May be 800/1000 as it is not really flexible as for 950/1000e stuff...

About origins: it was sold with 2 french silver stew spoon from the beginn of 19th... That did not help me anyway...

The "E" with crown makes me think about french silver from 18th but can't be... Could it be pseudo marks from Hanau???
