Sterling Silver Enamel Art Glass Thimble -- Maker's Mark?

Post by HistoryMaddi »

Hello everyone!

This is my first time posting but I come to this website very often when I'm researching antiques. Today I'm working with a silver thimble, and I found visually similar examples all over the Internet that were attributed to Germany and Norway, and labeled both Antique and Vintage (maddeningly). Most people did not list clear photos of the hallmarks, so I've been unable to narrow down whether I'm looking at the same item as what I'm holding in my hand. I have a clear photo of the maker's mark here:

These are photos of the whole item:

To me, the hallmark looks like a person or two people standing in a line, one with their arm around the other, and the second person is either meant to be half a person or has their leg raised like a can-can dancer, with a line where their second leg would be representing the ground. Of course, I might be looking at this mark sideways or something.

The research I've done in the world of thimble collecting seems to indicate that knowing the manufacturer is critical--and I would like to know so that I can definitively come up with a general age range for this piece! Thank you so much for your help. :)
