Looking for better quality

Postby RAB3Group » Tue Jul 05, 2016 2:14 am

I've been collecting sterling, specifically baby cups for awhile now and Im looking to start upgrading my collection. I have the usual stuff, Gorham, Kirk, etc. Anyone have any advice on this? Should I be looking at Tiffany? Cartier? or are there other high qualitiy to add?

Hi,
If I were you, I mean with rather narrow interest, i.e. collecting baby cups, I would start with Georg Jensen of Denmark. Enough for a lifetime search and of course having in mind the financial aspect.
Cheers

Also when a deluxe example comes along, trade the lower quality baby cups in order to obtain higher quality baby cups ::: The higher quality baby cups have applied raised designs on them, such as animals or baby blocks or storks etc.... ::: And if you find a set in the original box, that is also something that you would want to acquire ::: I used to know an antiques dealer who specialized in this category, and he had some very nice examples of the deluxe cups and a few that had the original boxes with the accompanying baby spoons and sometimes the food pushers :::
