Heavy table piece

Postby lellastiekje » Thu Jun 02, 2016 9:03 am

Dear everybody,

This table piece looks german marked to me.

The only thing i've found that match are the Norden city mark from the 18th century.

This piece looks to good to be that old or some family kept it very safe..

What do you guys think?!

Hi,
Fineness marked ``800`` and number ``307`` positively eliminate the possibility the item was made in 18th or early 19th century.
Pseudo marks.
Best wishes

Hi,

That looks like one of the Wolfers of Belgium marks.

You are welcome.
Btw. before inspecting marks always look how it`s made.In this particular case chasing and embossing was not done by hand.Too perfect machine work as far as I can see in the image.
Best wishes

Hi all,

Good point Trev. it is Wolfers Frères.
When I'm home, I will put a similar picture with almost identical marks.

Hi all,

Image

All the other marks were not official, but perfectly legal.
So there was no question of Pseudo marks.
A big difference between Germany and Hanau silver
So who cares ...... nobody paid tax

The official maker's mark is the mark with the three stars.
