Wine Taster - Diamond Stamp Query

Postby russell.shivas » Fri May 06, 2016 10:44 am

I recently purchased a blackened wine taster from a local Car Boot. The object seems solid silver - indeed two local Silver Smith seem to have formed a split decision. However the cup is stamped with a Diamond shape, inside of which (the diamond stamp) there is an A on the LHS and M on the RHS. In between and in the middle of the letters, there is an image of a layered inverted cone listing to the LHS, with a circular depression at the top of the cone. I have tried to search this mark, but to no avail - your help would be much appreciated.

Also if someone could advise as to how to load images - that would be great :-)

With many thanks - Russell

Hi,
Looks like French silverplate mark but the maker is unknown to me.
At least something to start with.
Best wishes.
