Small Canada spoon

Postby JanGroen » Mon Apr 18, 2016 3:37 pm

Good Evening
Found this small spoon (85mm) in a charity shop. It is marked STERLING with a castle or tower beneath the word. It has a crowned crest above the word CANADA. Any idea who made it when?

Good Evening
Thank you for identifying the silver hallmarks. So if I understand correctly, this spoon is older than a century?

Bit confused...are both the fork and spoon by the same people?

Hi Jannie,

Yes, both by the The Dominion Jewelry Mfg. Co.. As to the age, although the dies was acquired by the Breadner Mfg. Co. in c.1910, there is always the possibility that the old firm's name may have continued to be used.
