I recently picked up a silverplate teapot and have been trying to research the maker and the age, however I have so far been unable to find a record of either the makers mark or (what I presume) is the assay mark in the shape of a dog. I'm thinking possibly french? As this is the only record of a dog mark I can find, although none that match this item.
Of course it may not be a dog, but that is my best guess.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
