Help identify P L Co Hallmark on Sterling Candle Holder

Hi,
My fist post - use this site all the time - great

Got an old "Sterling" candle holder that is said to be from the 1920s or earlier. Only marking is on the bottom plate with P in square , L in square and concentric little o within large C in square . Please identify this mark. Overall the holder appears to be hollow ware but does weigh 297 grams.

Just to assure you that we are not ignoring you! I guess you have us stumped on this one.

Hopefully someone will prove me wrong and provide an answer.
