Precious metal buttons?

Wild question..Are gold/silver/plated buttons out of the scope of this forum? If not, should they be treated as jeweler's arts or as crafted/manufactured items like all other pieces?

No, not out of scope of this forum, and very welcome indeed. As to what section, I've always regarded buttons as jewellery, but sometimes they are better placed in other sections, it just depends. If you initially post in one of the jewellery sections, then if one of the mods feels that elsewhere would be a more responsive section, they'll move it there.
