This is a mark of Thomas Tookey (it is TT, upside down), this mark registered in 1779 and here shown with a 1782 hallmark.

Hi Phil,

I've copied and turned the makers mark and had a close look at it versus the oval version belonging to Thomas Tookey on your site. I'm not so sure they are a match but I could be wrong. Can you take another look and see what you think?

Steve,

I'm pretty sure they are both Tookey from the similarities. I have seen that "hollowed out" effect before on this mark but I don't know what might have caused it, perhaps overstamping on another mark? (I note that the oval shape is not completely regular)
