Postby Dax » Mon Jul 17, 2006 5:32 am

A detectorfind: nice gold ring with hallmarks:

ImageImage

1: L.B :maker's mark ?
2: 18 : 18 karat
3: (Hibernia?) (mark for Ireland/ Dublin?)
4: unicorn?
5: C: yearletter ?

Unfortunately i do not posses any literature concerning gold Hallmarks, could anyone identify these hallmarks?

Thanks,
Danny

Sorry, I don't have the answer to either question, but perhaps another will.
Tom

ps. My gut feeling is that the 18 is there for clarity and the unicorn for the sake of tradition.
