Spoon seems to be brass and no trace of any silver. Any ideas. Seems to be kings pattern. Any ideas from the markings?

Hi,

This is likely to be one of the marks used by William Page & Co. of Birmingham.

See: http://www.925-1000.com/silverplate_P.html

Due to the use of the 'crown' mark, the piece can be dated to pre-1897.

'GS' is an indicator for German Silver, see: http://www.925-1000.com/silverglossary3.html

Hi Trev,

Thanks for your information. It not a special spoon, but just something I bought to try and find out about. I was curious why it has never been plated and just left as brass.
