help identifying hallmarks on Champagne bucket (seau)

Postby fermiersgeneraux » Wed Dec 30, 2015 7:39 pm

Hello all,

Need help identifying the maker's mark on this champagne bucket (seau a champagne). the initials are "GM" with what looks like a propeller in between, all inside a lozenge.

the other hallmark is the minerva, 1st titre (950) I believe?

thank you in advance!

Hello,
The marks belongs to the manufacturer of tableware Georges Montibert.
He was active in Lyon from 1930 until 1969.
His shop was first located at 28 rue Notre-Dame and as from 1952 at 49 rue Germain in Lyon.
The symbol is indeed a propeller.
Happy New Year.
