late 17th early 18th c. silver miniatures

Postby miskey » Wed Dec 09, 2015 2:34 pm

Hi there,

Shot in the dark slightly, but I'm researching a group of what I'm reasonably certain are late 17th century / 18th century silver miniatures. They are apparently unmarked (I've searched pretty hard with a loup). Have John Endlich's book and the Aardewerk book, tall and small, but wondered if anybody recognizes similar pieces or has any pointers, in particular for the "braadspit" group...

Thanks so much for any help anyone can lend!!

Hi, welcome to the forum.

Yes, agree could be early 18th century and a complete 'braadspit' group is rare and highly collectable. Without any (hall) and maker's marks and just looking at the images it is a bit difficult to judge.
You have the right books but perhaps you could approach Esther & Emiel Aardewerk for better information or an appraisal. Success and please keep us informed.

Best,

Oel.
