British makers?

Hi!

I have two British sterling items for which I am looking for the makers.

1) A box: Birmingham, 1896, maker C.C, (JAYS?)

2) A small tankard, London, 1967, maker RC

Any knowledge of the makers are welcome.

The Birmingham "C.C" is Colen Hewer Cheshire, who first registered his mark in 1865. He died in 1910 or 1911, and the company continued until 1931.
