Silver spoon with unknonw pattern

Postby philippe48 » Fri Nov 06, 2015 6:21 pm

Hello,
I am trying to find the model of a silver spoon.
The hallmark has mostly disappeared but i think its from WMF.
The pattern of the spoon is very nice.
If you recognize this pattern, can you please tell me.
Thank you

You can easily check for silver. Does not look like WMF to me.I have seen many spoons of this pattern made by Austria- Hungary provincial silversmiths. They bought spoons elsewhere and cut off part of the handle to insert their own filigree work.

Thank you for the response AG2012.
Do you know of an internet site that would have around the same model of spoon?
Thank you

I agree that it's not WMF, at least not a pattern that I've ever seen from them.

Waste of time, trust me. Russia excluded (there are no hallmarks).Middle East also excluded (the pattern and overall appearance). Again, I think it was made somewhere in provincial Austria-Hungary or in neighboring Balkan states where assaying was not strictly legislated at the time (last half 19th century).
