First of 4 German silverware with 12 marks. I'm confident they are 12 Loth silver, but I can't decipher any city/assay marks to verify their silver content. And with it being 12 which was also used on plated items I'd like to know for sure either way. I'm not sure if the hallmarks are the right side up, only basing it on the 12 mark. This one is marked 12, HC, then 1844 (upside down). There could have been more marks next to the date, but its so faded I can't see anything else. I haven't seen any makers signatures as HC. Does anyone know who it might be and maybe what city? Thanks
