5 April 1786 Thomas son of Joseph Carpenter of Islington Road Middlesex Watch Case Maker apprenticed to his father.

5 October 1791 Thomas Carpenter turned over to Sarah Carpenter the widow of the above Joseph Carpenter.

This sort of information is useful on many levels .
It gives us :
The date of the death of Joseph Carpenter.
That the Sarah Carpenter recorded by Grimwade on page 317 was his widow and not that of Thomas Carpenter .
Although he was probably connected with Thomas Carpenter (there were probably at least two of them ) of Islington Road - see viewtopic.php?f=74&t=29820
