Exeter marks, confusing information.

Postby jonespxx » Wed Jul 05, 2006 7:17 pm

I havea gold watch with a 9k case made by BWC marked London Made and with full Exeter marks, 9, the three turret castle, 375, and a script D. I am pretty sure the case and watch are not older than 1930. All the info points to Exter marks not being used in the 20th century. I either have the most advanced watch of its time (by some considerable margine) or the marks are wrong, or my assumptions about the Exeter office are wrong. I am certain it is not another mark ie Edinburgh. Any thoughts, knowlege or wisdom greatfully accepted.
Thanks to the contributors in anticipation.
Regards
Phil

Similarity in castles of Edinburgh and Exeter...might be worth a check. BWC is Benson Watch Company. Best wishes, MIke.
