Help identifying hallmarks fish server

Postby DHajek27 » Wed Jul 29, 2015 8:01 pm

Hi
I have been trying to identify the hallmarks on a fish slice.
The slice is silverplated I believe, with an ivory/bone handle.
The marks are in Old English and are F BRS S * (each separately stamped)

The RS of BRS are smaller and underlined with 2 dots. I'm assuming this means Brothers, but I've had little luck identifying the marks.

There is also a fork; although it has an identical handle, it has a different design on it, and no hallmarks.

Many thanks,
Deb.

Yes, do include an image. Meanwhile, look to Farber Bros. of New York. They used their name interchangeably with Farbercraft. This is not the Farberware firm, per se, but may be related to the founders (their sons perhaps). Hope I'm not violating forum rules by answering this one!

Hi Trainline,

It's always best to wait for the OP to provide images, even should answer appear obvious.

'Many a slip between cup and lip.'
