Armadillo badge

I bought this badge in a charity shop last year. It is made of sterling and do have an unknown makers mark. It resembles a armadillo so it may be from some American country. Any information about the badge are welcome.

Still no idea who made this. Could the initials be a AW? Could be a piece made in Northern America as they mark silver with 925 or sterling.
