Teapot Mark Identification

Postby stephham » Sat Mar 28, 2015 3:47 pm

Hi Everyone,

I am trying to identify the mark of a teapot I have - I am totally inexperienced, and not 100% sure that this is actually silver.

The first initial of the mark is scratched. I think it is a 'B' but it could also be an 'R'.... I haven't been able to find a mark to match either option,

Could anyone shed some light on this for me?

Hi,

Welcome to the Forum.

It's 'P & M', it's one of the marks used by Parkin & Marshall of Sheffield. The item is silver plated or Britannia metal.

See: viewtopic.php?f=38&t=14790&p=81928&hilit=Parkin#p81928

Thank you!

No wonder I haven't been able to find anything under 'B & M' or 'R & M'!
