I researched this object for ten years the double billed hat on rider and the camouflaged coat only things that turn up in the ottoman crimerea, the wooden fence if this scene is indeed a fox hunt is not native England due to walls were stone and brick.... the maker mark of what appears a women looking to her left in a ink bottle is the big mystery.... would like to understand where this piece was made and by whom thank you

others things in this scene that seem to be out of place is the evergreens behind the oak trees, maybe old America but the riders double billed hunting cap is English.. the pistol carried by the rider is ancient about 1740-170 but that could be interpretated as a riding crop. see if I can be get a more magnified picture of the makers mark in the near future

Hi - please post your pictures in a larger size, the thumbnails aren't clickable and the images lose too much resolution on screen enlargement. From what I can see, your ashtray appears to be 1930s Cambridge Glass in 'Ebony', with a 'Hunt Scene' done in silver deposit (often called silver overlay). Can't make out any kind of mark, but the silver deposit could have been done by one of several different companies - please include a clear picture of your mark...
