Sugar caster

Postby liviu1 » Thu Jan 15, 2015 6:58 am

Hi. I have this silver sugar caster, I think it was made in London 1737 but decorated later during the victorian period. Can someone confirm the year and does anyone have any details with regards to the maker, E something above a star. Is the top part original to the piece or a later addition. There are no marks on the top part. I think the motto is 18th century. Thank you, Liv.

Hi Liv,

The maker was Edward Feline, that particular mark was entered on the 25th September 1720. I agree with your dating, 1737.
