Dutch Antique Silver

Can someone please assist me on identifying a silver basket I have inherited. The hallmarks are as follows:
F.S, followed by the Lion with a crown which I believe indicates 1st Silver, early 17th to early 19th century. This is followed by the Stork with a crest, which I believe indicates that this piece is from The Hague. Lastly there is an O with I think a crest, which I believe was the exemption from duty stamp introduced in 1807. If these are genuine marks, then the only one I am unable to identify is the F.S at the beginning. Any help welcome.

Hi, welcome to the forum and you have done your homework, very well!
The crowned, O most likely; The Hague date letter for 1785.

FS or F.S in rectangle for; Francois Marcus Simons (1750-1828), registered in the city of The Hague from 1776-1824, an important silversmith, worked for royal families, his work is found in museums, in 1812 his maker’s mark; S above a little pyramid, seen in lozenge and square. In 1817 committed for selling silver without the proper hallmarks.

Thanks for the feedback. Indeed good marks and from left to right: F.S for Francois Marcus Simons, the lion rampant in a crowned shield, province of Holland standard mark 934/1000 fineness. The Stork for The Hague and date letter crowned O for 1785. You haven’t give any sizes of the basket but it could be what we call in Dutch; zilveren soezenmand or silver toast or pastry basket ( length between 25-35 cm).
The zig zag mark is done by the assayer, made when the assayer took some silver to test the fineness.

Thank you very much for the information - at least I now know what it is that I have inherited. The length is about 15cm - I do not have the basket in front of me so this is a guess. Would this still be a toast or pastry basket as it is smaller than the 25 - 30 cm you noted. Admin edit, please read our forum rules

If only around 15 cm, I believe it could be a sugar basket without its cobalt blue liner.
