a vermeil filigree cross

Postby natsuki » Sat Nov 22, 2014 4:11 am

Hello. I have an antique cross, 44 x 27 mm, which I believe is made of vermeil. It was in France and has three marks on it. Is the figure in the pentagon Austrian Diana's head? Could anyone tell me what these marks mean? Thank you very much in advance.

Hi Natsuki,

Welcome to the Forum.

The bottom mark in your mark image is very similar to the marks used in the former Yugoslavia. Hopefully someone has some better references than me on the subject and can confirm/deny this as a possible origin of your item.

Trev.
