Don't recognize this mark.. Anyone know who made it? And what do you call this sort of silver applique over glass? I've seen this done by way of silver plating over copper on lead but not solid sterling; that I can recall anyway. It's a nice piece!
Wow! thanks! I didn't think of Alvin as there's no "crossbar" in the "A" (bad stamp?). I thought perhaps it was an upside down mark with a "V" in the center.
Anyway how'd they do this? Is it arts & crafts period? I just took a guess.
And on another note, how do you (or can you?) edit your post? I think I ask this sometime back but can't remember what or how the answer came back.
In the slideshow, I show a pic w/ a tape measure... this is a big piece! 13.5" tall. And the glass is hand blown.. sort of ovoid on the bottom.
No, there is no editing facility. Just correct anything in a follow-up post, or if there is ever a bigger problem just PM me or one of the other mods and we'll adjust it from this end.
