Desire to remind the public that their Manufactures are kept in stock by most of the Silversmiths throughout Great Britain, and recommend purchasers to satisfy themselves that their Trade-Marks,

(E. & Co., under a Crown in a Shield)

are distinctly stamped upon each article, such only being warranted.

The statement now so frequently made, that articles (often of the most inferior description) are plated by Elkington & Co.'s process, is utterly valueless as a criterion of quality.

In the case of "Elkington v. Johnson," recently tried before Vice-chancellor James, a perpetual injunction was granted, restraining defendant from using or imitating their Name or Trade-marks, and Elkington & Co. now Give Notice that they will institute legal proceedings against all persons similarly offending.

The death occurred late on Thursday evening, of Mr Howard Elkington, of Leeswood Hall, near Mold, senior partner in the firm of Messrs Elkington and Co., electro-platers. He had attained a fairly advanced age, and for some time past had suffered from paralysis. His remains were interred on Monday, at Pembrey, Carmarthenshire.

FUNERAL OF MR HOWARD ELKINGTON

The funeral took place on Monday of the late Mr Howard Elkineton, of Leeswood Hall, near Mold. The remains of the deceased gentleman were conveyed by train to Pembrey and Burry Port, in South Wales, with which district the late Mr Elkington had close relations, and where he formerly resided. The deceased gentleman, who had attained fairly advanced years, was senior partner in the firm of Messrs Elkington and Co., electro-platers. He leaves behind a widow and twelve children (four sons and eight daughters). He had for several years suffered from paralysis. For many years he travelled daily to Liverpool and back, but since his paralytic seizure he had necessarily been obliged to relinquish business. It will be recollected that some years ago Mr Elkington took Bathafarn Hall, Ruthin, spending a considerable amount upon it and then finding that the railway journey to Liverpool was much too long for his physical endurance. That was, unfortunately, before the days of the Yale of Clwyd expresses. He was compelled to relinquish the lease, sacrificing at the same time of course the greater part of the expenditure he had gone to upon the premises.

FOR A WAX MODEL

£175 Damages Against an Electro-Typing Firm

In the Queen's Bench on Monday, Mr. Cowell, the sculptor, claimed damages against Messrs. Elkington and Co., electro-typers, Regent-street, for alleged breach of contract. The case for the plaintiff was that he prepared a model in wax of the head of the late Lord Tennyson, and handed it for reproduction to the defendants, who injured the model, and made a reproduction out of proportion. The defence was that the wax in the model was too thin. The jury awarded the plaintiff £175 damages and costs.
