Danish ? Cream Ladle

Just looking for any info on the maker of this ladle,,when it might have been made ?,, seems Danish ( 13 1/3 loth ) but the maker mark seems kind of modern ( IEA ).... any help would be greatly appreciated

No, not Danish but more likely Norwegian. I cannot guarantee it but I'm rather certain that IEA is i. E. Andersen from Stavanger in Norway and working as from 1866 ->?

I agree this look Norwegian. The twisted handle was used around 1900. I have several the-spoons with the same twisted handle. Dont know exact when this was fascion. I guess 1880 onwards 1920 could be.

The use of theese was for cream. To put in the coffee. The cream was not homogized so it included the liquid as well as pieces of cream (whats the prober Word? lumps??)

I descide its lumps :-))
The lumps was conidered the best and therefor it was given to guests and those that you wanted to have the best. So the wife would use this to poor the cream but first she would make sure that the spoon contained only lumps before she poored it into the guest's cup.

Gentlemen.... thank you for your input. I too came to the conclusion that it was not Danish ( missing the danish national marks ) and was more likely from Norway. I am guessing at a date about in the late 1800s, what would you think ?

Well the missing marks are not necessary a proof of it not being Danish. You see in the provinces of Denmark they didn't always punch the official marks. Anyway, I managed to find this master from Stavanger in Norway and that is a more sufficient proof than the missing Danish marks. The date, yes late 19th century. Note that Andersen started to mark as from 1866, so it fits your "guessing" well. Why guess buy the way, you have been given the facts?
