Gorham Demitasse Cup Holder.. Sterling or Plate?

I tried to research the marks on this demitasse cup holder I bought today. Some Internet info says it's plated, other info says it's sterling. Can someone verify one way or the other? The mark shows "GORHAM E P YC 178" Thank you for you help. Lori
