Maker's Mark on Sheaffer Fountain Pen?

Postby sexauerw » Fri Oct 10, 2014 7:26 pm

I have a Sheaffer fountain pen that is marked Made in France (probably 1970s) and is also marked 18K Gold. But I don't recognize the maker's mark and didn't find it in the listing here under French Maker's Marks. Does anybody recognize this mark? I do recognize the eagle as indicating 18K, that's not a maker's mark. It's the other one which appears to be a star-P-L-star arched over a theater mask and enclosed in a diamond.

I'm pretty sure that Sheaffer had a jeweler make this pen for them. The total production run is said to have been only ten pens and ten matching ballpoints so it would make sense that Sheaffer wouldn't tool up their factory for such a small run. I'm trying to find out who actually made the pen.
