Help with a makers mark and date

Hi,

I have an old family ring and I'm looking for information about the maker (Stamp is .JB) and the date. It's a London ring from what I can make out, but the date number is a serif N which might be 1928 or 1868 (From what I can make out :/) So any help would be appreciated.

Hi Stuart,

Welcome to the Forum.

That would be 1928. I can't help with the maker, unfortunately there are no published resources for London makers after 1914.




If no-one else comes up with an answer, then it may be well worthwhile dropping an e-mail to the librarian at Goldsmiths' Hall in London, they are very helpful there. If you get a result please let us know the answer.
